While studying psychology at UBC, Shivani became increasingly fascinated by neuroscience after sustaining a significant head injury that shifted the course of her life. Since then she teamed up with the UBC Psychiatry department to run a study on yoga for brain injury, and she continues to be interested in how meditation can change the brain. In her own daily practice, breath work and mindfulness are essential elements for self-care, and as a Yoga Therapist she is dedicated to supporting others in learning simple, effective practices to feel more empowered and present in their lives. In addition to her E-RYT 500, Shivani is a Certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist, and has a BA in Psychology.
