Brooklyn found her yoga practice in her hometown, Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 2009.  She started with Moksha Hot Yoga and immediately fell in love with the hot practice.  Upon moving to Vancouver in 2010, she found YYoga and spent every morning religiously practicing YHot at YYoga Highgate.  It was lying on the studio floor in Savasana where she made the choice to become a teacher. 

Coming from a long history of dietary issues, physical restrictions and emotional trauma, yoga has helped Brooklyn feel comfortable in her own body as well as in her mind.  With time, she able to channel these life obstacles into her passion for health and wellness from physical activity to nutrition and lifestyle.  She is truly inspired by the brilliance of the human body and will stop at nothing to find natural solutions for a happier, healthier self.  

Brooklyn completed her 200 hour training through YYoga in 2012 with Rachel Scott and shortly after, completed her 80 hour YHot training with Kristin Campbell.  In 2014, she began cycling and completed her indoor cycling certification with Krista Popowych which exhausted her so much she decided to try slowing down for a change.  She then completed her 70 hour Yin training with Ashley McEachern in January 2016.  

Upon completing her Yin training with Ashley, she noticed a major shift in her yoga practice,  her teaching, and in her life as a whole.  For the first time, she discovered the value in practicing self-love and care; a discovery she now endlessly shares with everyone in her life from her students to her friends and family. 

Brooklyn has mentored with Anila Lacroix & Rachel Scott and over her years of training and teaching, she's come to enjoy her never ending occupation as a student. She believes that there is always more to learn and room to grow.  Even as a teacher, she will always consider herself a student. 

Brooklyn's classes are heavily focused on optimal alignment, movement with breath and doing what’s best for your own body and your own practice.  Through yoga, she believes that we learn how to live and move in our own unique bodies and experience a wonderful feeling of freedom. 

What can students expect from your class? I have a strong passion for health, wellness, learning and growing. I'll guide you through a practice focused on breath and alignment but most importantly, I focus on how you feel; physically, mentally and emotionally. 

Your practice is what you make of it, whether you choose to dive inward or to stay on the surface, it's important to recognize that your practice is just for you.  Everyone deserves a little bit of self-love in a day; my classes will always give you the time and space to love yourself.
