30-Hour YHot Teacher Training

Immerse yourself in the world of hot yoga! Now easier to fit into your schedule, we’ve reduced the YHot Teacher Training from 70 hours to 30 hours, spread over one weekend. Ideal for students who love our popular YHot series, as well as for aspiring teachers with no previous training, and current 200-hour certified teachers looking to teach YHot as a specialty. You can just deepen your practice, or come prepared to learn the specialized skills necessary lead a safe and effective hot yoga class.

Developed by Alex Atherton and Kristin Campbell, YHot draws inspiration and intelligence from both traditional hot and hatha yoga styles. While the intensity and challenges of traditional hot methods are maintained, YHot evolves the practice by incorporating modern biomechanical understanding and a light-hearted and supportive approach. The result is a style that safely maintains the intensity and restorative effects of hot yoga while allowing for creative expression and self-celebration.

Good news! A 200-Hour Teacher Training is not required to take the YHot Teacher Training!

Program Cost: $550 + tax.

YYoga 200-Hour Grads and Current Substitute Teachers – 20% Discount available

Current Full Time YYoga Teachers – 25% Discount available

When you attend a YHot teacher training at YYoga's Teachers' College, you receive unlimited drop-in classes for the duration of your training at your regional YYoga centres. Mat and towel service is not included.

Curriculum

This intensive training is a comprehensive introduction to hot yoga that will give participants the specialized skills necessary to practice and teach YHot. Perfect for YHot enthusiasts as well as 200-hour teachers looking to specialize in this style, YHot empowers you to both deepen your practice and expand your teaching.

At the end of this training, students will have the skills necessary to teach hot yoga, including:

  • YHot Philosophy and Teaching Methodology
  • Sequences and timings for 60 and 75 minute classes
  • Asana labs for YHot poses
  • Anatomy for the heat
  • YHot ethics and lifestyle
  • Essential teaching skills for YHot
  • Practice teaching with personalized attention and supportive feedback

Pre-requisites:

Students must have a yoga practice for a minimum of three months and be physically fit and able to practice yoga in a heated environment. Beginners are welcome and modifications will be offered.
