200-Hour Chris Chavez Path To Teaching

Open your heart and deepen your understanding of Yoga and the Teacher inside you.

The Chris Chavez Path to Teaching is offered in two separate and sequential stages. These stages are a unique opportunity to radically expand your practice, transform your understanding of alignment, and find your true voice - both on and off the mat.

All YYoga Teachers College programs are PCTIA and Yoga Alliance Certified.

First 50 Hours:  April 9 - 15, 2012
First 50 Hours:  October 1 - 7, 2012
First 50 Hours:  September 2 - 8, 2013

Second 50 Hours: December 3 - 9, 2012
Second 50 Hours: November 11 - 17, 2013

Stage 2

First 50 Hours: April 1 - 7, 2013
Second 50 Hours: June 3 - 9, 2013

Stage 1 & 2 must be taken in sequential order for certification. Not all levels are open for registration.

Rates include mat & towel service and drop-in classes for the week the student is in training. Prices do not include tax. Upon completing a level, you have 18 months to complete the remaining modules

Format

The Chris Chavez Path to Teaching Yoga is offered in two stages:

Stage 1 (100-hour Yoga Intensive: Part 1 & 2) is designed to inspire any practitioner to new levels of being, both on and off the mat by providing a fun, safe, and informed environment in which to evolve in.

Stage 2 (100-hour Teacher Training: Part 1 & 2) is intended to skillfully guide and prepare the most dedicated and qualified students to take the seat of the teacher by offering effective language skills that will help even those not interested in teaching to better communicate their Truth!

Sample Daily Schedule

9:30 - 10:30 am Dharma talk
10:30 - 12:20 pm Asana practice & asana technique
12:20 - 1:00 pm Lunch
1:00 - 4:00 pm Asana technique, practice teaching & philosophy 

Curriculum

Stage 1 (100-Hour Intensive: Part 1 & 2) Cultivating Studentship 

In the 100-hour Yoga Intensive your path will include:

  • Self-development, self-inquiry, self-investigation
  • Bio-mechanical tools and anatomical principles for the alignment of the asana
  • The study and practice of postures and sequences from level 1, 2, and 3 syllabi
  • Common Sanskrit terms and phrases
  • Yoga Philosophy - including the History of Yoga, Tattvas, and the Bhagavad Gita
  • Introduction to Meditation and Pranayama
  • The exploration of adventurous asana: dynamic backbends, inversions, hip openers, and arm balances
  • The exploration and expansion of the boundaries of your own practice

Stage 1 is a prerequisite to Stage 2 and is perfect for anyone looking to take their practice to the next level

Stage 2 (100-Hour Teacher Training: Part 1 & 2) The Creative Art of Teaching

In the 100-hour Teacher Training your path will include:

  • The cultivation of your voice as a teacher - speaking and teaching your Truth!
  • The art of building a successful class
  • The skillful language of postures 
  • Multi-level sequencing
  • The power of teaching with a message - crafting themes and language from the heart
  • Giving verbal and physica adjustments with confidence
  • How to construct an effective class demonstration
  • Experiential learning and group teaching - receive specific feedback on your teaching in a fun, safe, and supportive environment
  • The importance of building, expanding, and sustaining community - every student is a gift!

Stage 2 is perfect for teachers looking to take their practice and teaching to the next level or anyone wanting to better communicate their Truth with clarity and confidence!
