The Teachers
Four of YYoga's renowned yoga teachers will lead a wide variety of classes including Meditation, Power, Core and Capoeira. Do as little or as much yoga as you'd like - the choice is yours.
About Rachel Scott:
Training Certifications: ERYT-500, Yin, Restorative
My teaching is continually evolving, and I love to share this passionate journey with my students. My classes reflect my passion for alignment, love of laughter, and a good ol' respect for getting sweaty. And hopefully, at the end, you'll find a bit more centeredness in just being you. My yoga practice gives me a place to be fully myself. To feel, to move, to play, to explore, to rest, to fail, to be kind. I am inspired by those who compassionately seek to know themselves better. And who aren't afraid to get a little dirty along the way.
About Janet Corvino:
Training Certifications: 200 hour Yhot and vinyasa. May 2011 Anusara 300 hour certificate
As a teacher, I try to inspire students to reach past their perceived boundaries and reach for their yoga visions. I provide a nurturing, playful yet challenging environment in which the students can embrace their potential.
Being a city girl from New York, I lived a fast paced lifestyle and not until I arrived in Whistler 16 years ago did I try yoga. I was hooked after the first class. I loved the journey of mind, body and spirit and I still do. I constantly learn lessons on my mat which I carry over on to my life. I get inspired by yoga students who step outside of their comfort zone. It takes guts. I get inspired by my family, non-practicing yogis, but completely yogic in every sense of the word. I get inspired by Charles Bukowski and Maya Angelo's poetry.
About Michael Siddall:
Training Certifications: ERYT-500, Certified Anusara Teacher, Certified Iyengar Teacher
My teaching styles included Iyengar, Ashtanga and the principles of Viniyoga in the lineage of Krisnamacharya. I thank all of my previous teachers for the knowledge and wisdom they have bestowed upon me: B.K.S. Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar, and Prasant Iyengar of Pune, India. B.N.S. Iyengar of Mysore, India. Mahyar Raz, Marlene Mawhinney, Mira Mehta, Ramanand Patel, Ron Reid, Derek and Radha and other senior teachers in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
About Susan Van Zaig:
Training Certifications: ERYT-500
I have been practicing for 15 years, initially attracted to the union of mind and body that yoga awakens. Over time I've come to appreciate that the mat provides the ideal playground for the two to communicate. My classes are Vinyasa Flow/Hatha based, with flavours from the Iyengar, Anusara and Ashtanga traditions, emphasizing alignment, breathing, knowledge and laughter.
I find inspiration in the body's inherent ability to heal itself and view teaching as a way of lighting the path on that journey. The same path led me to become qualified as a 500 hour Yoga Therapist, and I'm currently completing my 1000 hour certification. When I'm not teaching I practice, read, paint, cook, hike and play with Buddha (my puppy).
