Will the yoga classes be quite advanced?

We welcome all levels of practice to attend the retreat, the classes are for all skill levels. And as is with any YYoga class, you're only to participate to the level you feel comfortable with. 

 

How many yoga classes do you have to attend?

There are no expectations in regards to the quantity of classes you attend. You can attend as many or as few as like!

 

What kind/style of yoga retreat is this?

Just like the classes offered at YYoga, our retreats offer a variety of styles including Vinyasa Flow/Power, relaxing Yin and Hatha. Classes in yoga rooms and outdoors when possible. Meals are fresh and healthy and specific food requirements or preferences can be addressed. 

 

Where are the teachers from?

All teachers attending are current YYoga teachers. At YYoga we pride ourselves on having the best in the industry. They're experienced, approachable and will ensure your yoga experience is amazing.

 

What is the typical age-group of past attendees?

The demographic of participants on our retreats is surprisingly vast.  We've had participants from their 20's right through their mid 60's.  

 

Do most people book with a friend(s) or is it common for people to go alone?

Many attendees book with friends but many also go alone, it's about a 50/50 split. 

 

Am I able to choose my roommate? If I don't have a roommate but want one, will I be paired with a roommate of the same sex?

If you're booking with a friend, of course you're able to choose your roommate. If you don't have a roommate but want to be paired with someone, we always do our best to match everyone with a same-sex roommate. If we are not able to match you with a  roommate, you will be responsible to pay the single occupancy rate.

 

Will there be children on the retreat? 

The resort does allow children, however, it is not a kid friendly environment and the attendance of children is not promoted. 

 

Does the room cost include meals?

The cost of your retreat includes 3 meals a day as well as early morning coffee and tea service. 

 

Is there free time for other area activities?

Absolutely! You're welcome to book and arrange any activities you wish. These costs are not included in the package with YYoga but all are welcome to create any schedule that allows you to make the most out of your trip.

 

If something comes up (illness/family emergency) after I've paid in full is it possible to get any money back?

The deposit in on refundable, however, the balance can be refunded outside of 30 days of the scheduled start date. 

 

What if English is my second language?

Everyone is welcome on the retreat, just keep in mind you will be traveling to a foreign country and there will be a greater communication barrier that should be considered. 

 

Will there be workshops as well?

Every retreat schedule varys slightly. Our website will detail what you can expect in the way of a yoga schedule.

 

Why isn't airfare included?

YYoga is not a registered travel agency and therefore we cannot offer flight bookings, but please contact our travel sponsor, Lloyd's travel, and they will be happy to assist you in booking your flight. 

 

How much is airfare on average?

Prices of airfare range from $600 - $1500 depending on the airline. 

Will we all be on the same flight?

Everyone attending will be booking their flights separately so its highly unlikely that everyone attending will be on the same flight. 

How much money do I need when I get there?

Any extra spending while being at Blue Spirit Retreat (i.e. for activities organized through our reception desk – like surf lessons, horseback riding, canopy tours, or Wellness services – and any consumption at the Café-Lounge) can be charged on your credit card. Therefore we recommend not bringing too much extra cash from home ($500 max. should be sufficient). The US Dollar is widely accepted in Costa Rica, so exchanging US Dollars to Costa Rica Colones is usually not necessary. Smaller denominations of $20 or less are easiest to cash. The exchange rate is approx. 500 to 600 Colones per US Dollar.

Will there be liquor for purchase?

There will be organic wine and beer for sale at the Cafe on the resort property.
